Wings: Who has the hottest?

At a recent stop at Buffalo Wild Wings (the one in Bear, though here's hoping the new Stanton location can open as soon as it can), I had my standard fare of boneless wings and mozzarella sticks. Once again, I was not disappointed. Buffalo Wild Wings may not be the fanciest place. But who's looking for fancy when it comes to wings and other bar snacks?

As usual, I had the wings made in medium sauce, but ordered an extra with a cup of their hot sauce on the side. I do this because I like dipping the mozzarella sticks in buffalo sauce, too. It's a good combo, but the hot sauce there a BWW is pretty hot, and it's two levels from the top. Above hot are "Wild" and "Blazin'."

Whew. Who gets Blazin'? Anyone? If you do, how do you survive?

And who has the hottest wing sauce out there? I don't mean from stores, but among restaurant and takeout places. The hot at BWW had me sweating pretty well. I can't imagine people enjoying hotter sauces, but maybe this needs investigating. Any suggestions?

As far as mozzarella cheese with buffalo sauce, anyone else do this? I'll also accept people who support putting mustard on french fries.

It's been years since I tried them, but Wings-to-Go had 'suicide' and 'homicide' sauces that were really hot.

As for who would try the really hot stuff, it's all depends on how hot you can handle. The medium that you like would probably be too mild for me and too hot for my wife at the same time.

If you can't stand the heat...

Dreamer's Cafe on the Philadelphia Pike has some really hot wings. They have their own hot sauce bottled for them - or used to at any rate. Great stuff!

The former Sir Guy's in Rehoboth had some of the hottest wing sauce I've ever had. Made out of pureed scotch bonnet peppers grown by the owner in his garden, mixed with a bit of cider vinegar and "normal" wing sauce, it was brutally hot, and didn't have that chemical taste you get with sauces made with pepper extract (like Dave's Insanity Sauce)

Great feedback so far. Thanks all, and feel free to post more comments regarding the hottest wing sauces.

I prefer hot over medium, though once in a while I'll just get medium depending on mood.

Most of the time, I use my medium+hot tactic: ask for the wings to be made in medium, and order "hot" or even "extra hot" on the side. I'll rarely venture into any of the levels above that.

I don't mind when a place's "normal" wing sauce is real hot. Anyone else know of places where the normal wing sauce is pretty hot?
