Remember this guy?Former Wilmington chef/restaurateur Tobias Lawry has apparently traded in his white chef's jacket for a blue blazer. Lawry, who once owned Restaurant 821 and the short-lived Vault steakhouse in downtown Wilmington, left the First State in Dec. 2004 and moved to Laguna Beach, Calif.
At the time, Lawry would not comment about his future plans.
"I've got a bunch of different pokers in the fire," Lawry told The News Journal, adding he would take some time off but would remain in the restaurant industry.
"It's my heart and soul. In this industry, it's not just your profession, it's your life."
Hmmm, maybe not so much anymore.
